Dr. K.D. Newman
Ken brings to our team a tremendous amount of valuable experience as well as a wealth of knowledge. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a Major in Animal Science at the University of Guelph. Ken then continued his education at the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Making the most of his days at college, he coached women's hockey as well as played competitively himself, worked on a variety of farms, participated in the Foal Watch program at OVC, and traveled. Ken was later accepted for a position as a Large Animal Surgery resident at the Ohio State University where he also completed his Masters of Science. Ken completed the Large Animal Surgery board exams in 2008 and is now a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons – Large Animal Surgery. While in Ohio, he met his future wife Margaret who is also a veterinarian. In 2006 Ken and Margaret moved to the Kemptville area, where they are currently living with their daughter Elizabeth and "Denver." They’re second child is due late May 2012.
